It can store up to 180 pages in memory and supports 100 speed dials, providing efficient fax communication. The printer also features PC fax and auto redial functions.

The M3170 has a 250-sheet paper tray, a 100-sheet output tray, and the capability to handle various paper formats, including A4, Legal, Letter, and more. It supports media weights from 64 to 256g/m² and includes a rear paper path for handling specialty media such as card stock and envelopes.
